I hope your weekend has been treating you well. I've decided to add in a new category to my posting here so ... in a similar vein to my Overheards feature, allow me to introduce you to It's A Sign.
Wherever I go, if I have a camera in my hand, I find myself repeatedly drawn to taking photos of signs, posters, labels etc etc.
I can't help it. I'm a word freak.
So, I've decided to share my obsession with you here in an 'as and when' feature starting today. So, let me show you a sign ...
Taken in Pockerly Old Hall at Beamish |
It takes on quite a different meaning when hanging on an indoor wall.
Near the bedrooms.
Tread light gentlemen indeed!
J :-)

Edited to add: The lovely Alexa has just left me a comment saying how this feature reminds her of some of the signs she's collected , which started me thinking ...
If you'd like to share links to posts you've written or links to online gallery photos you've taken of amusing, intriguing signs etc ... I could create a Pinterest board especially for them.
If you're a sign collector to, have a think and let me know if you think it would work.
Thanks!
haha.. now that is a great sign!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Ladies can apparently tread heavily with impunity! I'm going to enjoy this feature. :) I can think of a few of my own I've collected down the years. I especially liked the warning on the back of the packet of almonds: "May contain traces of nuts".
ReplyDeleteThis is very interesting! nice feature!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this feature. I'm forever taking pictures of billboards...
ReplyDeleteHee hee. Great sign. I have a few photos of signs, but I don't know if they'd be funny to anyone else - they're mostly 'in-jokes'! But I'd follow a Pinterest board to see other people's. x
ReplyDeleteOooh, yes, that sounds great, Julie! Now I really will HAVE to learn how to use Pinterest!
ReplyDeleteHaha...brilliant sign Julie...I had a thing for a while about photographing street signs...only if they were ornate tho not your run of the mill end of the road ones in your street....must dig them out...took loads in London, Oxford and Ediburgh...
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!!
