The Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap: 'Celebrate on the lawn in the moonlight'

Hi hi hi.

Do you remember how, before Going Postal began, when I pointed you towards The Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap hosted by Do What You Love I said I'd give it a go if I could find the time? Well, I decided to be sensible [get me!] and complete my card before registering ... just in case a calamity should prevent me finishing it and posting it off to its recipient!

Registration is now closed and I know at least one of you signed up too ... wouldn't it be funny if we got to send to each other Miriam? So I thought I'd share the card that will soon be landing on the doormat of my swap partner:
The theme for this year's swap was 'Celebrate' and I decided I've write or rather 'find' a story for my focal point:
 Meanwhile the background is made from patterned papers, vellum, washi-tape, fabric taps and textured paint ... and a suitably celebratory image cut from an old Judy comic:

If you're a fan of mail art then there should be lots of other examples in The Great Big Stitched Postcard Flickr group.

Now I'll just sit back and wait for someone else's work of art to land on my doormat! Come on post, don't fail me now!

Julie :-)

If you join in with a posty post of your own:
  • let your readers know you're Going Postal [a few words of introduction is fine];
  • link up to my blog or the Going Postal Pinterest board
  • then - if you use Pinterest please consider pinning it to one of your own boards, link me up, and I'll 're-pin' it.
  • but - if you DON'T use Pinterest drop by here or my Facebook page and leave a link to your postal-themed project or story before Oct 27th and I'll add you to the board for all to share your contribution.
Any problems or questions - just get in touch. :-)

  1. Fabulous! I have had my partner's info and unless you have changed your name and moved to New York I won't be getting that fabulous postcard :( I have mine almost finished so will post it (blog and box) next week.
